Camel Landrover One Ten V8 1984
The Camel Land Rover One Ten – A Rare Tribute to the Camel Trophy
In 1983, the Camel Trophy was held for the third time, and the popularity of this adventurous event was rapidly growing — including in the Netherlands.
During the early editions of the Camel Trophy, Series III models (88 and 109) were still in use. It wasn’t until 1984, during the Brazilian edition of the Trophy, that the first Land Rover 110s made their debut in the field.
Inspired in part by the German “Trophy” Range Rover, the Dutch Land Rover importer decided to respond to the rising interest, resulting in the creation of the Camel Land Rover One Ten — a special edition built as a tribute to the spirit of the Camel Trophy.
The Camel Land Rover One Ten was delivered as a station wagon, powered by a V8 engine and fitted with various options that perfectly matched the rugged and adventurous character of the vehicle.
The 1984 Camel Land Rover One Ten came standard with the following equipment:
- Heavy-duty black roof rack with matching rear ladder
- 3-meter lightweight sand ladders
- 4 roof-mounted spotlights
- 4 roof-mounted jerry can holders, including 4 jerry cans
- 1 additional spare wheel mounted on the roof rack
- Bush bar
- 2 auxiliary driving lights on the front bumper
- 2 front tow hooks
- Headlight mesh guards
- Exclusive Camel Trophy striping
- Special “Sandglow” paint
- Tectyl and ML corrosion protection treatment
- Spare wheel cover with Camel branding on the rear door
Although this Camel Land Rover One Ten remains in exceptionally rare and original condition, some items have gone missing over the years, including the sand ladders, jerry cans, bumper-mounted spotlights, roof-mounted spare wheel, and rear ladder.
The exact production number of Camel Land Rover One Ten models is unknown, but what is clear is that these vehicles are extremely rare and have rarely surfaced on the market in recent decades.
