Period Correct

“Period correct” means that a part, accessory, material, or technical solution is consistent with the period in which a classic car was built or used. A car does not have to be completely original to be considered period correct. For example, a later modification can be historically correct if it was already in use during the relevant period.

Period correctness often plays an important role in restorations and historic rallies. The goal is to bring the car as closely as possible, both technically and visually, into line with its historical character, without necessarily reversing every later modification.
