Weber Carburetors

Weber carburetors are widely used in classic European sports cars and race cars. Starting in the 1920s, Weber developed carburetors known for their excellent performance and tuning capabilities. Italian brands in particular, such as Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, and Lancia, made extensive use of Weber carburetors, but British and other European cars were also equipped with them. “Twin Webers” refers to a setup consisting of two twin carburetors from the legendary Italian brand Weber (such as the famous DCOE or IDA series). Whereas a standard classic car often shares a single carburetor among all cylinders, with twin Webers, each cylinder receives its own specific fuel and air supply.

This results in dramatically improved throttle response, faster fuel-air mixture formation, and a noticeable increase in power, particularly at higher RPMs. For enthusiasts of historic sports cars, the name stands not only for superior mechanical performance but also for the unmistakable, deep intake sound that embodies the character of classics from the ’60s and ’70s.
